Kevin Hammond - “Maybe”
Seriously, why isn’t this song played all over the radio by now. It’s such a catchy summer song. I LOVE IT! Kevin Hammond is signed to A&M/Octone, and one of my former colleagues play bass for him. If you like this song, buy it! New artists need support so that their label will pay attention to them, and give them a budget to go on the road.

“Corcovado (Quiet Nights of Quiet Stars)”
I just acquired a six disc Stan Getz Bossa Nova Box set, and it’s so relaxing to listen to, and perfect for cafes. I’m thinking about doing several posts just on Getz and Gilberto. Just a little bit of background info since not everyone is familiar: Stan Getz was an incredibly famous sax player in the sixties. Astrud Gilberto, famed for her vocals on “Girl from Ipanema,” sang on a recording for the first time on this album, which also featured Joao Gilberto, her husband, as Getz’s primary collaborator.

“Who’s Lovin’ You (Live at the Forum Excerpt)”
Sorry for the longer than intended hiatus, but I’m back, and I’ve got a lot to share. I’ve been working at Universal designing a blog for the absolutely stunning Jackson 5 Live Album that’s coming out soon. Man, those kids can sing. Here’s an excerpt of Michael singing “Who’s Lovin’ You” at 11 yrs old. Wow! Anyways, follow the new J5 blog if you’re interested in hearing more clips and stories.
